WEDNESDAY Season 3 First Look Reveals Jenna Ortega as Filming Wraps — GeekTyrant

Nevermore Academy is getting ready to open its creepy doors again. Filming has officially wrapped on Wednesday Season 3, and we’ve also got our first look at Jenna Ortega back as Wednesday Addams.

The new season of Netflix’s massive hit is expected to arrive sometime in 2027, bringing more Addams Family secrets, new faces, and another trip into the strange world of Nevermore.

Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, who also worked on Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and Smallville, are back as showrunners. Tim Burton also returns as an executive producer and director.

Plot details remain locked away for now, but Gough and Millar previously offered a suitably sinister tease of what’s coming: “This season, we welcome new students, new teachers, and excavate some long-rotting Addams Family secrets. Don’t say you weren’t warned.”

Gough also talked about their approach to continuing the series, explaining: “Our goal for Season 3 is the same as it is for every season: to make it the best season of Wednesday we possibly can. We want to continue digging deeper into our characters while expanding the world of Nevermore and Wednesday.”

Millar added: “We will be seeing more Addams family members and learning more family secrets in Season 3!”

The returning cast includes Emma Myers, Hunter Doohan, Joy Sunday, Moosa Mostafa, Georgie Farmer, Isaac Ordonez, Billie Piper, Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo, Victor Dorobantu, Evie Templeton, Luis Guzmán, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Joanna Lumley, and Fred Armisen.

Season 3 is also bringing in a pretty awesome collection of newcomers. Eva Green (Dark Shadows), Winona Ryder (Stranger Things), Chris Sarandon (Fright Night), Noah Taylor (Game of Thrones), Oscar Morgan (A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms), Kennedy Moyer (Task), Lena Headey (Game of Thrones), Andrew McCarthy (Weekend at Bernie’s), and James Lance (Ted Lasso) are all joining the series.

Burton is especially excited about the new additions, several of whom he’s worked with before: “I’m so excited to be back for Season 3, and it’s great to be reunited with all of the original cast. The addition of some dear friends and past collaborators of mine — Winona, Eva, Chris, Noah … makes this season extra special. I feel very lucky.”

We don’t know much about Wednesday Season 3, but expanding the Addams family and digging into its buried secrets gives the series a lot to play with. Adding Green, Ryder, Sarandon, Headey, and the rest of the newcomers certainly doesn’t hurt either.

The first season of Wednesday remains Netflix’s most-viewed English-language series of all time, and the series has become one of the streamer’s biggest franchises.

With filming now complete, Wednesday Season 3 is moving closer to its expected 2027 return. Now we wait to see what Wednesday Addams and her wonderfully messed-up family have waiting for us.
