Anne Hathaway has plenty more to say about the stars who inspire her

While speaking in the interview, Hathaway mentioned more about Ronan, saying, “I’m completely obsessed with Saoirse Ronan. I just think that she’s the coolest. She’s so interesting.”

Similarly, she turned on to Buckley, adding, “Like the rest of the world, I’m enchanted by Jessie Buckley. I don’t know how she does it.”

Hathaway also brought up a conversation she had with writer-director Rebecca Miller, whom she has previously worked with. Miller told her that “all the best actors are creatures,” and Hathaway felt the description suited Buckley particularly well.

The actress then explained what she meant by calling Buckley a “creature.” Hathaway said Buckley seems like someone who “dances with the angels.”

She added that her admiration for Irish talent extends to three-time Oscar winner Daniel Day-Lewis, joking that her list of dream collaborators from Ireland could go “on and on and on.”

Hathaway has had a busy 2026, with Verity following several other major projects. The actress reprised her role as Andy Sachs in The Devil Wears Prada 2, reuniting with Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt for the long-awaited sequel. She also featured in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, adding another major title to her lineup.
