Jailer 2, the much awaited sequel to Rajinikanth and Nelson Dilipkumar’s blockbuster Jailer, is set for a worldwide theatrical release on October 15, 2026. Produced by Kalanithi Maran under Sun Pictures, the sequel has generated strong anticipation following the success of the original film.
The makers have now officially confirmed that Jailer 2 will release across IMAX theatres worldwide. Sun Pictures announced the IMAX release through its official social media platforms, ending speculation surrounding the premium format. The larger presentation is expected to enhance the film’s action sequences and visual scale for theatrical audiences.
Jailer 2 features Rajinikanth in the lead, alongside Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, Vijay Sethupathi, SJ Suryah, Mithun Chakraborty, Yogi Babu, Ramya Krishnan and Vidya Balan. The film has already attracted attention through its promotional material, while Anirudh Ravichander returns as the music composer for the sequel.
The makers recently unveiled the special song Bindass, featuring Nora Fatehi in a prominent dance appearance. Sithara Entertainments, which acquired the Telugu theatrical rights through producer Suryadevara Naga Vamsi, has also confirmed the film’s IMAX presentation. With its October 15 release approaching, Jailer 2 is preparing for a significantly grand theatrical rollout.
