An AI-generated video using the popular “Chuttamalle” song from NTR and Janhvi Kapoor’s “Devara” sparked outrage on social media after it circulated widely for several hours.
NTR, who came to know about the video, immediately condemned the misuse of AI technology and warned that legal action would be taken against those responsible.
Janhvi Kapoor’s team also issued a message on X, stating that legal action would be pursued against the offenders.
Several social media influencers also condemned the creation and circulation of the video. Following the backlash and complaints, X and other social media platforms removed links to the video.
Although the hashtag #Chuttamalle is still trending, the AI-generated video itself is no longer publicly accessible on the major social media platforms.
Composed by Anirudh Ravichander, “Chuttamalle” became one of the most popular songs from “Devara” and contributed significantly to the film’s pre-release buzz. “Devara” went on to become a hit at the box office.
For Janhvi Kapoor, “Devara” remains her only successful Telugu film so far. Her second Telugu film, “Peddi”, received a mixed response.
