Ben Whittaker will fight in front of a home crowd this weekend in a huge IBF final eliminator. ‘The Surgeon’ is going up against Conor Wallace on Saturday (October 3) at Birmingham’s Utilita Arena, with the full card available to watch live here.

Darlaston boxer Whittaker (12-0-1, 9 KOs) will put his WBC Silver belt on the line and claim the number one contender spot for the IBF Light Heavyweight World Championship should he win. Standing in his way, however, is IBF number two-ranked Wallace (17-1, 12 KOs), the Northern Irishman who has built his professional career in Australia.

The winner of Saturday’s bout will earn a shot at the title against unified champion Dmitry Bivol. Whittaker has firmly established himself as one of British boxing’s brightest prospects since making the switch from Boxxer to Matchroom Boxing in 2025, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Speaking to DAZN following the move, Matchroom chairman Eddie Hearn described Whittaker as a ‘superstar in the making’, saying: “This guy is wow, everybody in the country needs to get behind this because we are crying out for a star and Ben Whittaker is him.

“We’re gonna take him all around the world. This guy has got it all, he is an absolute superstar in the making.”
