Katie Alexander, 45, has moved out of Eamonn’s Surrey property after his stroke in April and is said to be ‘very sad’ about the situation
Eamonn Holmes’ girlfriend is said to be “devastated” after moving out of the £1.3million flat they shared together.
Katie Alexander, 45, moved out of the Surrey property following the 66-year-old GB News presenter’s stroke in April.
Eamonn began renting the three-bedroom flat after his split from wife Ruth Langsford in 2024, which Katie later moved into.
According to The Sun on Sunday, Eamonn’s family are understood to be managing his finances after he was taken ill earlier this year. Earlier this week, it was also reported that the news host would not be returning to his GB News hosting job, though this has been denied by the channel’s bosses.
“Katie is still very much together with Eamonn and in love, but she’s moved out of the flat,” a source told the publication. They continued that it’s a “very sad situation” and that she had loved living there with him and making it a home.
They added: “Katie has been Eamonn’s rock and lifeline since he fell ill. She’s willing him to get back to full fitness and get their lives back on track.”
Mum-of-three Katie divides her time living at her home in West Yorkshire and the Surrey flat.
The Mirror has reached out to Eamonn’s reps for comment.
Eamonn has battled with his health over the years, undergoing surgery for both hips to alleviate chronic hip, leg, and back pain in 2016.
Following that, he fell down the stairs and fractured his shoulder. He then got a painful infection and later had severe spinal issues that led to bladder and bowel problems and a nine-day hospital stay. Later in 2022, he suffered another fall.
In April, he was found at his flat by a carer after suffering a stroke and has not been spotted in public since. Eamonn was missing from the TRIC Awards in the summer and offered his thanks to his viewers via a pre-recorded message after GB News won the Award for Best News Programme for the fourth consecutive year at the annual awards ceremony.
In the message, he addressed his ill-health. He said: “I’d dearly wished I could have been there to celebrate with the team, but for now my focus has to be on making a full recovery and getting back to my best.”
Eamonn thanked those who had wished him well amid his poor health, adding: “I’d also like to thank everyone who has sent their kind get-well messages. They really do mean the world to me.”
Following the presenter’s stroke, his son Declan issued a statement where he thanked everyone for the support, admitting his dad’s health woes were a “real shock”.
“I just wanted to share a quick message to say we hugely appreciate all the messages, it means a lot to us as a family. What happened came as a real shock, but dad is doing OK given the circumstances and we’re taking it one step at a time. For now, we’re focused on him and keeping things steady around him,” he said in a statement at the time.
He added: “We’d really value a bit of privacy as we navigate it, and what lies ahead, but thank you again for the support as it means so much to dad and the rest of the family.”
