Venkatesh, Chiranjeevi prefer their Sankranthi 2027 releases – Telugu Cinema

Chiranjeevi and Venkatesh

Venkatesh has had his Sankranthi 2027 release lined up for a long time. He has teamed up with director Anil Ravipudi for the multi-starrer “January 12 Vidudala”, which is scheduled to hit theatres on January 12, 2027. The release date has been part of the plan from the beginning, and there is currently no change to it.

Venkatesh had initially expected his film “Aadarsha Kutumbam”, directed by Trivikram, to arrive in August. It was subsequently postponed to October, and now there is talk that the film could be pushed further to either October 30 or November 6.

If that happens, Venkatesh will have only around two months between the releases of “Aadarsha Kutumbam” and “January 12 Vidudala”. That leaves little breathing room, as he will have to move into the promotions of the Sankranthi release soon after the October or November film arrives.

A similar situation is unfolding for Chiranjeevi. He has already announced “Kaaka”, directed by Bobby, as his Sankranthi 2027 release, with January 13, 2027 locked as the release date.

At the same time, his long-pending project “Vishwambhara” has been trying to find a release window before “Kaaka”. However, the team is yet to figure out how to position the film before Sankranthi. More importantly, Chiranjeevi appears to have greater confidence in “Kaaka” and is keen on retaining it as his Sankranthi release.

In both cases, the senior stars seem to be prioritising their Sankranthi commitments over their other pending films.
