Superstar Rajinikanth is back as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian in Jailer 2, and the newly released theatrical trailer has immediately renewed excitement around the much-awaited sequel.
Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the film is positioned as a bigger and more action-driven continuation of the world created by the 2023 blockbuster.
The trailer brings Rajinikanth’s trademark style, mass moments and action into focus while introducing the larger conflict surrounding Muthuvel Pandian. S. J. Suryah, Vidya Balan and Suraj Venjaramoodu stand out among the prominent faces showcased, with the trailer suggesting that the sequel will feature several powerful characters and intense confrontations.
The trailer surprises with its combination of comedy, action and Rajinikanth’s stylish presence. The Superstar takes on a new mission, but his innocence, mass action, screen presence and swag take centre stage.
The stakes appear to be much higher this time, while the visuals promise plenty of goosebumps moments. Going by the trailer, Nelson seems to be bringing a proper festival commercial entertainer that could appeal to a wide section of the audience.
Produced by Sun Pictures, Jailer 2 also features Yogi Babu, Mirnaa, Mithun Chakraborty, Anna Rajan and Jatin Sarna in key roles.
Anirudh Ravichander’s background score gives the trailer an additional high, while his energetic album has taken expectations to the next level.
Sithara Entertainments will release the film grandly in Telugu on October 15, 2026.
