Robert Kelker-Kelly, best known for appearing in the US soap opera Days of Our Lives and also starred in General Hospital and Another World, has died at the age of 62
Robert Kelker-Kelly has died at the age of 62. The actor was a household name in the United States, having appeared in a string of soap opera roles, including as Bo Brady in the NBC soap opera Days of Our Lives in the 1990s.
At the time, his character became embroiled in a romance with Billie Reed, who was played by Lisa Rinna in the years before she found further fame as one of the breakout stars of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
The news of his death was first reported by TMZ, who reported that the actor died on Saturday but that the cause of death was not yet known.
Born in Wichita, Kansas in 1964, Robert took an interest in theatre when he was in high school, appearing in musicals like Guys and Dolls, Oliver! and Camelot.
He attended the University of Kansas for a short while but dropped out to pursue his acting career. His on-screen debut came with the role of Another World in 1987 before he moved on to his signature role of Bo Brady. He then played Stavros Cassadine on General Hospital in the 2000s.
Outside of acting, he started up a career as a professional pilot and worked in the field from 2003 until 2015. In his personal life, he married Linda Rattner in 1988 but they divorced four years later.
He then began dating actress Miriam Parrish, who also starred on Days Of Our Lives and they married in 1997 and welcomed a daughter together but divorced in 2011.
Robert’s best-known role remains that of Bo on Days of Our Lives, but co-star Lisa Rinna, who has also appeared in Dancing With The Stars, Hannah Montana, and The Traitors, spoke out about their frosty relationship off-screen in her memoir You Better Believe I’m Gonna Talk About .
She wrote: “Remember when Kathy Hilton I was the biggest bully in Hollywood? Not true. Not even close! I have legit stories about the real bullies in this town. Robert Kelker-Kelly is one of those bullies.
“He made my life a living hell on the set of Days. He was horrible to me. I’d go so far as to say verbally abusive. He was passive aggressive, manipulative, and played weird mind games.
“I had to work with him every day, often half naked to do love scenes. If I didn’t do what he wanted, he’d give me the silent treatment.
“He was a ticking time bomb. I never knew when I arrived on set each morning if I’d get nice Robert Kelker-Kelly or dark Robert Kelker-Kelly. He was unpredictable and it was exhausting.”
