Sadie King has already made quite the impact on Emmerdale village.
The super schemer, played by Patsy Kensit, returned to the quaint Dales settlement to pay tribute to her late ex-hubby Jimmy (Nick Miles). She soon manufactured a horrific lie, and implied that for the last three years, she’d been in a secret relationship with him.
The news devastated his current wife Nicola (Nicola Wheeler), who this week looks set to finally uncover the plot. She’ll listen to a number of very telling voice notes prior to Jimmy’s funeral, but what will her reaction be?
While one chapter seems to close for Sadie, another is about to open. Next week’s spoilers reveal that she’s about to team up with grieving Joe Tate (Ned Porteous), who has remained determined to avenge his late fiancée Dawn’s death.
Joe blames Ruby and Caleb Miligan (Beth Cordingly and William Ash) for her demise, though not satisfied with simply burying Ruby alive to teach her a lesson, he’s now going to enlist Sadie to wreck the happy couple’s marriage.
But will Caleb fall for her seduction? He seems to think that he’s not an easy target, and will be able to avoid being caught in a messy situation.
There’s still a lot of mileage with the character. She’s on our screens into 2027, and if reports are to be believed, Sadie will fake her own death in her final storyline.
“Sadie has been a phenomenal return to the show,” Emmerdale producer Sophie Roper told Inside Soap Magazine.
“As for how that story concludes, we are building to the end point and a big denouement for that character. Sadie’s momentum, and the impact she’s going to have on our villagers, is only going to grow.
“There will be some incredible, exciting twists and turns, and a lot of unexpected revelations.”
