New Delhi: At least 10 students of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) have accused a professor of sexual harassment, with the university’s Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) currently investigating the allegations.
The complaints were reportedly submitted around a month ago. According to the allegations, the professor invited students to gatherings at his residence on the JNU campus, where he allegedly made inappropriate sexual advances towards them.
The professor has also been accused of making lewd and inappropriate remarks during classes.
Following the complaints, several senior students have reportedly approached the authorities with similar allegations against the professor.
The ICC has initiated an inquiry into the complaints. The process is currently underway, and the allegations have not been established.
The JNU administration and the office of the Vice-Chancellor have not issued any statement on the matter so far.
