Tattoos can say a lot about the things people genuinely care about, but fandom tattoos take that idea to another level. A favorite movie, character, band, video game, or fictional universe can become something people decide to carry permanently, often with designs that mean much more to them than they might to anyone looking at the tattoo. Some are subtle references that only another fan would recognize, while others leave absolutely no doubt about the obsession behind them. Fans regularly share these tattoos online, explaining the stories and personal connections behind their designs. The results range from beautifully detailed artwork to wonderfully specific references that only fellow fans immediately understand.
