After another exciting year of new releases on television, the time has come to celebrate the best of 2026 with the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards show, being hosted live at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California. The show will officially get underway at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT, and it is presented by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. The Primetime Emmys recognize excellence in American primetime television programming, both on network TV and on various streaming networks.
At the Creative Arts Emmy Awards earlier this month, HBO Max’s Hacks came away with the most nominations for any show (17), while Apple TV’s Widow’s Bay took home the most wins with eight different awards. Nicolas Cage’s Spider-Noir also webbed up five wins behind the classic black and white wall-crawler, and power players like The Pitt and Pluribus had strong showings as well. This year will also have its fair share of emotional moments, including the late Rob Reiner earning one final Emmy nomination and a win for his work in The Bear.
