Sainsbury’s is making a big change for customers who buy fruit and vegetables over the August Bank Holiday weekend. Sainsbury’s has launched half-price Nectar Prices on selected fruit and vegetables.

It includes: sweetcorn, peppers, mushrooms and mangoes. The move will run from Friday 28 August to Monday 31 August.

Sainsbury’s, which has branches in Birmingham, hopes the discounts “make it easier to enjoy fresh seasonal favourites for less, whether getting together with family and friends over the long weekend or planning delicious family meals.”

Richard Crampton, Commercial Director, Fresh and Convenience at Sainsbury’s said: “We know customers are looking for great value without compromising on the quality of the food they bring home. That’s why we’re offering half-price Nectar Prices on selected fruit and vegetables, making it easier to put fresh, nutritious food on the table over the Bank Holiday weekend and beyond.”

Existing Nectar customers simply need to scan Nectar at the checkout instore to save with Nectar Prices, Sainsbury’s has said.

Customers shopping online will have their discounts applied automatically if their Nectar and Sainsbury’s accounts are linked.

Those wanting to become a Nectar customer can sign up to Nectar by downloading the Nectar app or visiting the Nectar website.

Alongside these half-price Nectar Prices offers on fruit and vegetables, customers can also benefit from hundreds of Aldi Price Match products across everyday essentials, making it easier to find great value throughout the weekly shop.

Deals include by Sainsbury’s Sweetcorn Single Cob, being sold for now 35p with Nectar (35p/ea) (70p without Nectar, 70p), and Taste the Difference Red Sweet Pointed Pepper, which is now 37p with Nectar (Nectar (37p/ea) (75p without Nectar, 75p/ea).

Other items included include by Sainsbury’s White Large Flat Vitamin D Mushrooms 250g – now 62p with Nectar (£2.48/kg) (£1.25 without Nectar, £5.00/kg)- and by Sainsbury’s Giant Mango – now 75p with Nectar (75p/ea) (£1.50 without Nectar, £1.50/ea).
