Ravi Teja and director Shiva Nirvana’s “Irumudi” is nearing the Rs 200 crore gross mark worldwide. On the occasion, producers Naveen Yerneni and Ravi Shankar, along with director Shiva Nirvana and Baby Nakshatra, who played Ravi Teja’s daughter in the film, interacted with the media and thanked audiences for turning the film into what they described as a “generational blockbuster”.
“Generally, such blockbusters happen once in a decade. The collections have been growing with each passing day. At a time when films are struggling to maintain numbers after the first week, ‘Irumudi’ has witnessed consistent growth. In the Nizam region alone, the film has recorded 42 lakh footfalls so far,” said producers Ravi Shankar and Naveen Yerneni.
The producers also announced that a massive success event will be held on September 10. The venue will be announced shortly.
Director Shiva Nirvana said he has received compliments from people across different sections and admitted that while he expected the film to be a big hit, its scale of success has surprised him.
“Earlier, people thought I would make films like ‘Majili’ and ‘Kushi’. Now they are saying that I can make films in any genre,” he said.
“Irumudi” features Ravi Teja as a father to a pre-teen girl and blends devotional elements with family drama and revenge.
