There have been reports that Rajinikanth’s “Jailer 2” may not meet its Dasara release plan and could be pushed to November. Adding to the speculation, there were also reports that Venkatesh and Trivikram’s “Aadarsha Kutumbam” was looking to occupy the October 15 release date if “Jailer 2” vacated it.
However, Sun Pictures, which is producing Jailer 2, has now released a new poster reconfirming the film’s October 15 release date. The poster features Rajinikanth holding a gun, with a caption stating that the film is arriving on October 15 to create a storm.
“Jailer 2” was initially planned for an April 2026 release. The makers later announced a June release before finally locking October 15. With no major promotional activity for a long time and the first song failing to make much impact, speculation grew that the makers might reconsider the release strategy.
The latest poster, however, makes it clear that “Jailer 2” is currently sticking to its announced release date.
This means Vijay Deverakonda’s Ranabaali, which has already announced an October 16 release, will now face direct competition from Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2.
