A compact home gadget has been praised as ‘super effective’, with shoppers saying they couldn’t live in the UK without one. The dehumidifier is designed to tackle excess moisture, condensation and damp while helping clothes dry faster – particularly useful during the UK’s wetter months.
The OmniDry 12L Quiet Low Energy Dehumidifier from ProBreeze is £149.99 but ticking a box at checkout drops it to £127.50. It can remove up to 12 litres of moisture per day, making it suitable for medium to large rooms.
It costs around 5p an hour to run and has a 2L water tank, while its dedicated laundry mode helps speed up drying times by removing moisture from the air. An automatic humidity sensor also works to keep room humidity between the recommended 40 to 60% range.
Another option is the Daewoo Dehumidifier for £52.99, down from £66.99, at Currys. This one helps to prevent condensation and damp issues, is suitable for room sizes up to 15 metres squared, and helps to control mould spore and dust mites.
From Appliances Direct, there is the Meaco Arete One 12L Low Energy Quiet Dehumidifier for £159.98. This one offers a digital display to show the current room reading, and it removes excess moisture from homes and prevents damp, mould and condensation.

The OmniDry 12L Quiet Low Energy Dehumidifier has been rated highly on ProBreeze, however, as one person said: “This tool is fantastic! I’m not sure how one can live in the UK without one. Easy to set-up and use and super effective. Alarming how much water it sucks from the air even on non-rainy days.”
Another added: “Brought this as (I was) so fed up with all the rain and not being able to dry all the washing I have. Works so well with drying the clothes and is really energy efficient. Costs me about 3 to 4p per hour. So glad I got this.”
A third commented: “Gets clothes dried at a rapid speed. The air feels fresher, we love using ours.”
Some people disagreed, however, as one person said: “Not quite as quiet as expected, but this doesn’t matter because of where I have it. It definitely makes a difference as the humidity in my home is now at an acceptable level, with the exception of one day when the weather was particularly close outside.”
Another said: “A good dehumidifier, is quiet and efficient, but could do with a better handle for lifting.”
