I’m A Celebrity bosses are said to have landed a famous face from their wishlist for the upcoming series after years of the musician rejecting their advances

I’m A Celebrity bosses have reportedly landed a real coup after years of rejection. It’s claimed Ricky Wilson has finally answered the calls of the series big wigs and accepted a spot on the upcoming contest.
The Kaiser Chiefs front man, 48, has had a very busy schedule in recent years, with his previous role as a judge and mentor The Voice, as well as his Virgin Radio drive time show.
It’s claimed bosses have been “keen as mustard” to get him into the show in recent years, thinking he’d be great television. But the musician continued to reject their advance – until now apparently.
A source told The Sun: “I’m A Celeb bosses have been trying to sign Ricky up for years, but he’s always politely declined. Now he’s finally given in. Bosses are overjoyed and think he will be a great addition to the camp.”
The speculation comes after AJ Odudu was also claimed to be in the frame for a stint in the jungle. The publication claimed that AJ became interested in taking part after her Big Brother schedule had been worked out.
“AJ loves the show and would love facing the Bushtucker Trials,” a source said.
While the pair have been linked with the main run of the show, the latest group of campmates heading to Canada for the Canadian spin-off of I’m A Celebrity are getting ready to be put to the task.
The show is set to start filming early this week and will see celebrities competing in pairs, with friends, relatives and couples taking on Bushtucker-style trials together before facing elimination as a duo.
Rather than competing individually, the hopefully are said to be set to have to work together win food and survive eliminations before one winning duo is crowned. The show will be filmed in Canada’s Callaghan Valley, near Whistler Olympic Park. It’ll replace the Australian jungle for the special spin-off series.
The backdrop will be extremely different from previous offerings. The rugged wilderness is home to wildlife including grizzly bears, black bears and mountain lions.
Among those at the airport jetting off last week was, Jeremy Lynch and Paul Olima. The pair were seen laughing as they got ready to board their flight to Vancouver for the show.
Jeremy was seen smiling and laughing as he made his way through the airport. Brian McFadden and Keith Duffy are also reported to be making up a pair of hopefuls, as are Olympian Christopher Dean and his wife Karen Barber.
It’s thought the show will air in 2027. It will make up part of celebrations marking 25 years of I’m A Celebrity after the hit reality series first hit screens in August, 2002.
