M&S shoppers buying multiple £28 ‘shimmering silky’ shirts for autumn

It’s currently available in four different colours and is selling very fast

A satin shirt can seriously dress up your outfit, whether you’re off to work or off out for some crisp autumnal drinks. Over on the M&S website, this Satin Collared Button Through Shirt is priced at £28 and is one of the most trending items on the website.

It’s currently available in dark aubergine, paprika, antique rose and green colourways – although stock is limited in certain colours. At the time of writing, the “dark petrol” shade has sold out online.

On the M&S website, the full product description reads: “Add a luxurious touch of shimmering silkiness to your smart looks with this satin shirt. Cut to an easy-to-wear regular fit, it features a chic pointed collar neckline and classic long cuffed sleeves. Contrast button-through fastening and a gently curved hem complete this sophisticated style.”

If you’re on the hunt for more of a colour range with guaranteed stock, New Look is also selling this Satin Long Sleeve Shirt in eight different colours. It can be “dressed up or down” depending on your mood.

For a classic black, Next is also selling this Friends Like These Black Satin Button Through Shirt for £35. It’s described as a “wardrobe staple” and can be worn for multiple different occasions.

Back in the M&S reviews for the shirt, one shopper said: “This is my fourth shirt of this type. I love them because they’re a classic style that can be dressed up or down. They are also easy to wash, requiring minimal or no ironing. I deducted a star purely because I would prefer the buttons to be the same colour as the shirt.”

A second review read: “Love this. Bought in paprika which is very striking. I would say true to size but deliberately sized up as I like big shirts. The material is very luxurious so I would say this is dressy rather than an everyday shirt.”

A third fan added: “Great fit and lovely colour, have ordered a second in the blue.”

A fourth shopper said: “Lovely fabric and colour shirt. I’ve purchased several of the same satin shirt and they wash well. Love this vivid green. Sizing is generous so l buy a size smaller.”

Not all shoppers were as pleased with the fabric on the shirt, which was seen in a review which read: “I’ve ordered size down, still, unfortunately, the shirt is huge and long. Even if you want to tuck it into your trousers there is just too much of it and it doesn’t look very good which is a shame because the fabric looks nice and smart. I wouldn’t recommended it, returning mine.”
