The Spice Girls have shared a mysterious message on social media, calling for fans who can ‘sing and dance’ sparking widespread speculation about a reunion

Spice Girls fans have been left beside themselves with excitment after a video was posted to the all-women band’s official social media pages asking for supporters who can “sing and dance”. The reel appeared on the group’s Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) pages featuring a newspaper advertisement from The Stage, the very same trade paper that called for an all-female group in 1994 which ultimately became the Spice Girls.
In a clever touch, the publication was positioned on the staircase that featured in their famous Wannabe music video from 1996.
The advertisement stated: “R U a Spice Girls fan with the ability to sing and dance? R U a superfan, a collector, a music lover?”
“Spice Girls are a widely successful, global, choreographed, singing/dancing all female pop act with a record nine number ones in the UK and over 100 million global sales.
“Thursday 10th September at 2 o’clock BST. No sheet music required. But you will need a vinyl or CD player.”
The band offered no additional details about the meaning behind the advertisement.

The Spice Girls comprise Victoria Beckham, Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton, Melanie Chisholm and Geri Halliwell-Horner. The group achieved worldwide stardom following the launch of their debut single Wannabe in 1996, which marked its 30th anniversary this year.
The award-winning ensemble also delivered chart-toppers including Stop, 2 Become 1, Who Do You Think You Are? and Viva Forever, accumulating nine UK number one singles and two best-selling albums.
Halliwell-Horner departed the band in 1998, citing “differences between us”, and in December 2000 the remaining members went their separate ways, announcing an indefinite break.
They came together again in 2012 for the closing ceremony of the London Summer Olympics and in 2019 for their Spice World tour, but have since been the focus of rumours regarding a potential return to performing.
