Apple has unveiled its next-generation iPhone line-up at its ‘Surprise and Shine’ event on Wednesday, with the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max among the new models – here’s where to pre-order them
Apple has unveiled its latest iPhone range at its ‘Surprise and Shine’ showcase on Wednesday (September 9). The tech giant’s annual autumn keynote is typically where we get our first look at its next-generation smartphones.
The new iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max have been revealed – with the ‘most advanced camera in an iPhone, incredible battery life, next-level performance and Siri AI, all powered by A20 Pro’ according to Apple. Both models are available in four colours – black, silver, glacier and an all-new burgundy.
The event also saw the announcement of Apple’s first foldable handset, the iPhone Duo. There’s also the latest Apple AirPods 5, Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 to come too.

A number of retailers have already confirmed they will stock the iPhone 18 range, including EE, Vodafone and Three Mobile. As is customary, each model will be available to purchase outright or via a monthly contract, with prices anticipated to be steeper than last year’s offerings.
The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max launched at £1,099 and £1,199 respectively for the base 256GB model, yet reports indicate that memory supply shortages could push costs higher, with Apple passing these increases on to customers. That said, shoppers will still have the option to spread the cost through a monthly payment plan, as reported by the Mirror.
Apple iPhone 17 Pro with unlimited data

Sky Mobile is offering Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro for its ‘lowest ever price’ of £49.50 per month and £12 upfront with an unlimited data plan, saving shoppers more than £430.
Prices are expected to be confirmed by the likes of Sky, EE and Mobiles.co.uk soon. Even with the new models yet to be unveiled, the iPhone 17 is already dropping in price, with Sky cutting the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max to their ‘lowest ever price’ of £31.50 and £34.50 respectively.
These prices are available when spreading the cost with a 36-month contract, though it’s worth noting they only include a 100MB allowance, meaning most users will need to pay extra for a larger data plan. Elsewhere, Amazon has taken £100 off both Pro models, now priced at £999 and £1,099 respectively.
Both the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are set to feature notable upgrades over their predecessors, including the new 48MP Fusion Main camera now with variable aperture. Both models feature a smaller and even more useful Dynamic Island, as well as A20 Pro and a next-generation vapour chamber that together deliver the highest sustained performance in iPhone history.
Pre-orders for both the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are expected to start as soon as Saturday (September 12), with availability from Friday, September 18. The iPhone Duo will be delayed slightly with pre-orders starting Friday, October 16, with availability from Friday, October 23.
