Mass director Boyapati Srinu appears to have a strong contender for his next project, with Tamil star Karthi emerging as the latest name linked to his plans. At the Sardar 2 pre-release event, Boyapati revealed that he and Karthi had held several story discussions earlier, renewing speculation about their long awaited collaboration.
Boyapati is known for high voltage action, powerful hero elevations and emotional family drama. After delivering blockbusters such as Akhanda and Sarrainodu, the filmmaker has continued exploring commercial entertainers. His previous projects Skanda and Akhanda 2, however, did not match the expectations created by his earlier successes, increasing curiosity around his next move.
Interestingly, Boyapati revealed that he had previously narrated multiple stories to Karthi, including the concept that eventually became Sarrainodu. Karthi had reportedly suggested changes to that story, but Boyapati did not pursue them. The filmmaker later narrated two more ideas, but neither materialised, making their proposed collaboration a recurring topic.
Karthi currently has several commitments, including Karthi 30 with Mad director Kalyan Shankar and Meenakshi Chaudhary, Marshal in Tamizh direction, while Kaithi 2 is also confirmed to be in development. He has additionally teased HIT 4. With his packed schedule, the Boyapati – Karthi project will depend on the right script and suitable production timeline.
