Despite the failure of Indian 2 at the box office, reports about its third instalment are making the rounds. Veteran actor Kamal Haasan is expected to return as Senapathy, with Shankar continuing as the director. The development is particularly noteworthy given Shankar’s recent career struggles following the failure of Game Changer.
For now, there is no official announcement regarding the restart. However, with much of the shoot already completed, Indian 3 could be a project the makers decide to finish and release as soon as possible.
Interestingly, a major portion of Indian 3 was shot alongside Indian 2. The film reportedly does not require extensive fresh shooting, with only minor patchwork remaining. However, a substantial amount of computer graphics work is still pending.
The project was put on hold following the disappointing response to Indian 2. Now, as per the latest reports from Chennai, the makers could soon resume post-production and push the film forward.
