‘Cooks beautifully and looks so stylish’
Shoppers looking to make hearty dinners with less hassle can pick up a large slow cooker for under £60 with a discount code AUTUMN10. The Morphy Richards Sear and Stew 6.5 litre Oval Slow Cooker is up for grabs at £58.46 down from £74.99 at Yimbly, an online marketplace owned by this publications parent company, Reach Plc.
The slow cooker features a removable hob proof cooking pot, allowing shoppers to sear meat and other ingredients on the hob before transferring the same pan into the appliance to continue cooking. Its generous 6.5-litre capacity can accommodate upwards of 10 starters or eight main portions, with the oval shape also providing enough room for cooking whole joints of meat.
A glass lid allows cooks to check on their meal without releasing steam, while rose gold accents give the appliance a stylish finish on the kitchen counter. The cooking pot is shatterproof and designed to cut down on the number of pans needed when preparing meals, although shoppers should note that it isn’t suitable for induction hobs.

Lakeland alternatively has the Lakeland 6.5L Searing Slow Cooker for £99.99. This one offers five pre-set browning settings for searing meat and vegetables and four pre-set cooking functions: low, high, steam and yoghurt, as well as having a glass locking lid.
Dunelm then has a cheaper option with the Tower 6.5L Navy Cavaletto Slow Cooker at £42. It offers three heat settings, cool-to-touch handles for safety measures and a tough glass lid.
The Morphy Richards Sear and Stew 6.5 litre Oval Slow Cooker has been rated highly on the Morphy Richards website, with one shopper writing: “Easy to use, easy to clean and saves loads of washing up. Glad I picked the 6.5L version, so many plans for it now.” This user cooked lamb shanks “beautifully” in it, calling the “depth of flavour” it provided “so much better than from the oven”.
Another added: “Recently got this new slow cooker as our old one was dated, couldn’t be happier. Brilliant product – Simple to use and much easier to clean than the standard crock pot that comes with most slow cookers.” A third shopper wrote: “Third Morphy Richard’s slow cooker over a period of about 40 years. Excellent value. Long lasting and very easy to use! I still have my oldest one and it’s still working though quite small!”
Some disagreed slightly, with one Amazon shopper writing: “Great slow cooker, but I wish it had a timer function. It’s not the end of the world as I plug it into a smart plug so I can set a timer with Alexa or turn it on/off remotely but a timer would be much easier. I love being able to use the inner compartment on the hob first to sear meat before slow cooking. It’s really lightweight so it’s easy to take in and out of the cupboard. It is big though, probably a minimum of 6 portions so better for large families or big meal preps.”
Another said: “It hasn’t got a warm button, that’s the only issue for me.”
