EXO-6 has officially unveiled the next addition to its Star Trek: The Original Series sixth scale action figure collection with Spock in Environmental Suit, based on Leonard Nimoy’s appearance under the shower curtain in the first season episode “The Naked Time”. On the frozen surface of Psi 2000, a dying planet on the edge of collapse, a landing party discovers a station full of dead Starfleet researchers and a mystery. EXO-6 presents Mr. Spock (Environmental Suit Edition), a 1/6 scale museum-grade figure capturing his look from the classic Star Trek: The Original Series Season 1 episode, “The Naked Time.”
Designed by costume designer William Ware Theiss, these protective suits were created specifically for the Psi 2000 landing party and were never seen again in the series. Famously, the suits were improvised from shower curtain material — a perfect example of the low-budget ingenuity that gave The Original Series so many of its most memorable looks. Unlike the silver spacesuits that would appear later in the show, Theiss’s design for “The Naked Time” was a loose-fitting coverall in a striking orange fabric shot through with a silver metallic pattern, topped with a soft hood and a screened face panel. The result is one of the most visually distinctive costumes of the entire Original Series, and the outfit Spock is wearing when Lt. Tormolen unwittingly exposes the Enterprise to the Psi 2000 contagion.
The EXO-6 Mr. Spock in Environmental Suit 1/6 Scale Figure features:
- Fully Articulated Body: More than 30 points of articulation allow the figure to be displayed in multiple dynamic poses.
- Realistic Portrait: A hand-painted sculpt captures the likeness of Leonard Nimoy as Mr. Spock with accuracy.
- Removable Hood: The soft environmental hood with its screened face panel can be fully removed to reveal the detailed portrait underneath.
- Environmental Suit: The original orange and silver patterned material is faithfully reproduced in fabric at 1/6 scale, maintaining a screen-accurate appearance without restricting poseability. Includes matching fabric gloves and a pair of boots.
Tricorder: A detailed tricorder accessory with a black shoulder strap. - Spectrum Analyzer: The hand-held scanning instrument Spock used to examine the station, finished in silver and orange and sized to fit securely in the figure’s hand.
