The inaugural edition of the World Athletics Ultimate Championship signs off in Budapest on Sunday.
The cream of the track and field crop have been strutting their stuff in the new season-ending event at the Gyula Zsivotzky National Athletics Centre, which has been tailored for new audiences.
Though a new colour scheme (pink sand and black turf), eye-catching and informative TV graphics, a record $10 million prize fund and plenty of fireworks have given the meet a fresh feel, it’s the athletics action that has really dazzled.
Team GB are still waiting for their first Ultimate Champion but that could change today, with Josh Kerr hoping to claim another men’s 1500m title and Amy Hunt going in the women’s 200m final.
Unfortunately, Kerr and Jakob Ingebrigtsen will not renew their rivalry as the Norwegian has pulled out of today’s race after winning the 5000m on Friday.
Still, a fantastic final evening awaits in Budapest and UK viewers can tune in to watch for free.
