McBee Dynasty patriarch Steve McBee Sr has been released from prison and reunited with his family.
The 53-year-old father of four and Bravo reality star served less than a year of his original two-year sentence after pleading guilty to federal crop insurance fraud.
McBee, who previously opened up on how he was spending his last days of freedom before lock-up time, was released from a federal prison camp in Yankton, South Dakota on Friday and back on the family farm in Gallatin, Missouri, appreciating the ‘simple things in life,’ as he shared in his first post-prison Instagram reel of green rolling hills, trees and pond.
The video was set to the soundtrack of John Denver’s classic tune Take Me Home Country Roads.
Cole, who is the third-born son of McBee and his ex-wife Kristi, also took to Instagram to share a photo of McBee meeting his new granddaughter for the first time, and looking a lot thinner, too.
‘So blessed to have the family back together. Dad and Tate have officially got to meet now,’ wrote Cole alongside a red heart emoji.

McBee’s namesake, Steven Jr, echoed that sentiment by posting a video of the reunion with ‘life is good’ written in the caption.
McBee, a prominent Missouri farmer and owner of the McBee Farming Operations, has starred on the Bravo reality series The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys with his four sons, Steven Jr, Jesse, Cole and Brayden, since it premiered in March 2024.
He pleaded guilty to federal crop insurance fraud in November 2024 after underreporting crop yields and submitting false information to Rain and Hail, a company reinsured by the Federal Crop Insurance Corporation, between 2018 and 2020.
He claimed that his farming operations produced only 340,476 bushels of corn and 190,171 bushels of soybeans in 2018.
In reality, his farming operation sold more than 1.2 million bushels of corn and nearly 416,000 bushels of soybeans.
McBee was sentenced to 24 months in federal prison, followed by two years of supervised release. He was ordered to pay over $4 million to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
Now McBee is expected to serve four to six months under home confinement. After that, he must complete a two-year period of supervised release, per People.
Speaking on the podcast Roxanne and Shantel podcast on August 24, Steven Jr expressed that he was looking forward to having his dad back in his life and in the family’s businesses following his release from prison.

His son Steven Jr said on the Roxanne and Shantel podcast on August 24: ‘I hope that the way he talks now, the way he acts now, and the things he says, I hope they stick whenever he gets out of prison. ‘We cannot wait to have him back here,’ he said. ‘I think prison and that time to do nothing or just read and reflect is going to be the best thing that ever happened.’
Steven Jr revealed his dad has been changed by the experience.
‘I hope that the way he talks now, the way he acts now, and the things he says, I hope they stick whenever he gets out of prison. And if so, I think there’s a lot of good things to come,’ he said.
Season three of McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys concluded in August.
As of early September, Bravo has not officially renewed the series for a fourth season.
