Rocket Room has applied for a licence at Highcross

Leicester’s Highcross shopping centre could be about to get a lot more competitive.
Rocket Room Leicester Highcross Ltd has applied for a premises licence for Unit R4, near St Peter’s Square, paving the way for a venue combining axe throwing, darts and beer pong under one roof.
The unit being eyed up was formerly home to a Café Rouge restaurant, which closed in 2020.
Companies House records show Rocket Room Leicester Highcross Ltd is linked to Elangeni Investments Limited, which also runs Rocket Room in London’s Leicester Square.
That venue describes itself as “London’s new competitive socialising destination,” bringing together axe throwing, interactive darts, shuffleboard and beer pong under one roof alongside a full cocktail bar.
It says it is “built for groups,” with walk-ins welcome when lanes and boards are free.
The London site also offers full private hire for corporate team building, birthdays and celebrations, according to its own description.
If a similar format were brought to Leicester, it would mark a new addition to the Highcross leisure offering.
The application, made under section 17 of the Licensing Act 2003, seeks permission to sell alcohol for consumption on and off the premises.
The requested hours are 10am to midnight Monday to Saturday, and 10am to 10pm on Sundays.
