Taylor Swift is reportedly unhappy with being compared to the Duchess of Sussex. The pop star’s wedding guest list has been compared to that of Meghan Markle’s royal wedding to Prince Harry. However, some noted that the Duchess knew many of the people she invited, while Swift reportedly invited some guests she barely knew.
The comparison gained further attention after one of the wedding guests spoke about the ceremony. Nikki Glaser recently revealed that she attended the wedding on July 3 despite not personally knowing either the bride or groom. According to Mandatory, journalist Rob Shuter revealed that Swift is not all sports with Glaser’s revelations about her wedding.
An insider claimed, “Taylor is furious with Nikki, but the worst part is that it’s true.” The source added that Swift did invite celebrities she barely knew. “Nikki simply said publicly what everyone was whispering privately,” they revealed.
According to Page Six, Glaser made bombshell revelations about the Opalite singer’s wedding to Travis Kelce during her Caesars Palace Las Vegas set. The comedian called herself the “biggest Swiftie” present at the couple’s nuptials. While she complimented the newlyweds on their nuptials, she jokingly took a jab at the ironclad NDA they made all the guests sign.
Glaser also shared that she did not expect to get invited. She said, “I got the text inviting me to the wedding — I never thought in a million years I’d get invited. I don’t even know them, but I got invited.” Her words reportedly did not sit well with Swift.
The insider told Shuter that Glaser’s revelation sparked another joke in the celeb-circle. “The joke going around is that Meghan Markle knew the celebrities at her wedding better than Taylor knew some of hers,” they said. The source claimed that the comparison with Markle is “absolutely mortifying” for Swift.
Glaser’s remarks were reportedly everything that Swift did not want to hear from her guests. The Love Story singer was utterly private about her wedding and did not let her guests expose her special day in public. “Nikki made the wedding sound less like a celebration and more like celebrity casting,” the insider added.
The source claimed that many guests did not even have Swift’s contact details. Therefore, “they attended her wedding then went right back to being strangers.”
During her set, Glaser also boasted about her being surrounded by some of the biggest celebrities in the industry. Brad Pitt, Steven Spielberg, Jennifer Lopez, Julia Roberts, and many others came under one roof to attend the singer’s nuptials. However, Glaser noted that many of them were not allowed to bring a plus-one.
The 42-year-old said, “It was interesting because some of these celebrities were alone, and these people are never alone.” Glaser claimed that such celebrities are used to either having a publicist or an assistant to accompany them. She then exclaimed, “But, like, J. Lo was alone.”
Shuter previously reported that Swift may not take any legal action against guests who do not abide by the NDA rules. However, those guests may reportedly never get invited. Meanwhile, both Swift and Kelce have not revealed any pictures from their special evening yet.
