Brie Larson still has summer on the mind as the weather starts to turn chillier.
Paramount Pictures has set director Harry Bradbeer’s feature adaptation of One Italian Summer for theatrical release on May 12, 2028, just in time for Mother’s Day weekend. Larson executive produces and stars in the screen version of author Rebecca Serle’s New York Times best-selling novel that first published in 2022.
Set in Italy’s Amalfi Coast, One Italian Summer centers on a young woman who endures a devastating loss, leading her to reconnect with her mother in a new light. Larson is set to play Katy Silver.
Hailing from Temple Hill Entertainment, the movie counts Larson and Serle executive producers, alongside David Stone for TFC Productions.
Larson is known for starring on Lessons in Chemistry and playing Captain Marvel in the MCU, along with voicing a role in this year’s The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. She is set to lead director JT Mollner’s horror film Skeletons that hits theaters next summer from Sony, while other forthcoming projects include FX’s Cry Wolf and Amazon MGM Studios’ Close Personal Friends.
The Oscar-winning actress is represented by WME, 2PM Sharp and Sloane Offer.
More to come.
