The venue has gone up for sale with the last day set for the end of this month

A much-loved Liverpool sandwich and sweet shop has announced it is closing its doors. After almost seven-and-a-half years of serving the local community, Pip’s Sandwich and Sweet Shop has officially been put up for sale.
Owner Carol-Anne Murphy said the decision to put the Woolton Road venue on the market was “not made lightly”. In an emotional message to customers, Carol-Anne thanked everyone who had supported the business since it opened, whether they had visited once or become regular customers.
She said creating a welcoming community hub had been a dream, with customers becoming friends and the shop raising money for a number of charities over the years.
Pip’s is due to close on Wednesday, September 30, although customers will have an opportunity to say goodbye at a special weekend of events before then.
A farewell get-together will be held at the shop on Saturday, September 26, and Sunday, September 27, from 2pm. The event will feature a fundraising tombola “in the true style of Pip’s”, alongside refreshments and a number of surprises.
Money raised during the farewell events will be donated to three charities: Alzheimer’s Society, Macmillan Cancer Support and CALM, which works to prevent suicide.
In a post shared online, the team said: “So this is just to let our Pip’s friends know that after almost 7.5 years, we will be closing on Wednesday 30th Sept 2026. The decision to sell was not made lightly and if you know me, you’ll completely understand.
“Everything has moved very quickly too so apologies if you are only just finding out. I’d really like to thank everyone who has visited Pip’s maybe only once or maybe you’re a Pip’s regular. Your contribution to our little community has been appreciated.”
The shop will be closed next weekend, Saturday September 19 and Sunday, September 20, due to holidays.
Until its closure at the end of the month, the shop will continue trading as usual, serving its breakfasts, homemade bakes and sweets while a buyer is sought for the takeaway and café premises.
