Hotel prices are surging on the days Oasis are set to perform in Manchester

Oasis this week confirmed a huge 38-date tour next summer with an 11-night residency at Manchester’s Etihad Stadium.

It came after weeks of speculation about a new tour after the success of Oasis Live ’25, which saw the iconic Britpop band reunite on stage for the first time in 16 years.

The band teased the news with a huge 120-metre drone display lit up the skies outside the Etihad Stadium on Thursday evening (September 10), after rock band Evanescence performed at the Co-op Live.

The impressive light show, which lasted ten minutes, emerged from the ground of Man City’s women’s team, the Joie Stadium, as it displayed the band’s name alongside the date and time of 14.9.26 at 4pm BST.

And in the 4pm announcement, it was revealed that the band will perform in Glasgow, Manchester, Munich, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Paris, Rome, Boston, Las Vegas, and Ireland before finishing with an epic return to Knebworth.

The tour kicks off on May 21, 2027, at Glasgow’s Celtic Park and will conclude with four nights at Knebworth, finishing on September 19. Oasis are set to perform in Manchester at the Etihad Stadium on June 4, 6, 8, 11, 12, 15, 18, 19, 22, 25, 26.

Shortly after the announcement, one fan took to social media after noticing that hotel prices in Manchester have surged in the wake of the news.

@Sassmutd wrote on X: “The absolute state of this for Oasis first night! They are having a laugh!!” She shared a screenshot of the Britannia Hotel in Manchester city centre showing a price of £275.

Prices jump from around £99 on a Friday night in May to £275 every night in June.

Other fans have noticed the same pattern, @ZaaanderSmith wrote: “£300+ a night for a hotel in Glasgow night of the Oasis gigs brilliant.”

A similar phenomenon was seen last year when Oasis toured in 2025. Rooms at some of Manchester city centre’s ‘most affordable hotels’ were going for as much as £500 on the first weekend that Oasis are set to return to their home city.

The screenshot above shows the prices at DoubleTree by Hilton Manchester Piccadilly surging when Oasis are playing in the city.

Another fan wrote on X: “£758 for a Hotel room the weekend of #oasis”, and one person said they are planning on sleeping in their car due to the surging hotel prices.
