The summer has come to a close: The kids are back in school, New York Fashion Week is underway, the film festival season has started, and the US Open has wrapped. And with that comes the 2026 Emmy Awards, a harbinger for the next awards season to come.
It feels like yesterday when Chanel became the official outfitter of the best-dressed stars during the awards season, but it’s been nine months, and I’m happy to report that Matthieu Blazy and his team are still at the top of their game, with ambassadors Ayo Edebiri and Nicole Kidman repping them on the Emmys red carpet.
It was a big night for black ensembles: Michelle Pfeiffer in a draped dress by Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello, Grace Gummer in a Dior gown, and her sister Louisa Jacobson in a Tom Ford by Haider Ackermann suit were standouts for understanding the power of simplicity.
But not everyone went subdued. Selena Gomez wore a Louis Vuitton gown that rendered her as stunning and golden as a disco ball, Carey Mulligan delighted in a blue frock by The Row, and Mariska Hargitay brought the va-va-voom as she walked the carpet in a red gown.
Tonight also showed the potential of Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez’s Loewe: Julia Garner and Riz Ahmed were some of the most stylish on the carpet, each in a custom ensemble by the duo.
