Emotional series following reality star Gemma Collins through IVF
Year: 2026
Certificate: 15
‘I had it all planned out.’ Sky expected to make a very different show when they started following Gemma ‘The GC’ Collins about, and so did she. Marriage and babies with her fiance Rami was the key plank of that plan – along with plenty of larger-than-life GC-style antics, you’d imagine – but what actually happened was one of those years where everything seems to happen at once, and very little of it was good.
You expect extremes from Gemma Collins of course, but not of the raw and vulnerable variety, and there’s plenty of that here as the former TOWIE star deals with a challenging journey into the world of fertility that puts her relationship on shaky ground. However, the biggest emotional event is the death of her 70-year-old mum.
Gemma spent a long period caring for Joan in the run-up to her death in July 2026, and remembers that ‘I got a frozen shoulder pushing her around the shops in a wheelchair.’ It’s those kind of comments that, intentionally or not, also add a lightness to the show in a distinctly Gemma Collins way. And, yes, Gemma’s mum was actually called Joan Collins. (Eight episodes)
