Sushil Ghunawat, better known as Bollytech artiste Trapperx, is bringing his All Black Experience with Trapperx to the Bengaluru. The event, that follows the prescribed dress code of all black attire, comes to India after Trapperx’s international tour across Australia, New Zealand and Southeast Asia.
“The first few viral reels that popularised the name Trapperx were shot in Bengaluru,” says Sushil. His journey from starting out as a gym trainer to becoming the first Indian Bollytech DJ to be featured in New York’s Times Square, without the support of a label, speaks volumes about his effort to bring Indian electronic music to the global stage.
Jaipur-based Sushil worked on his music for over 10 years and taught at a music academy. He has previously performed alongside Shankar Mahadevan, Atif Aslam, Jubin Nautiyal and others, bridging the gap between classical and mainstream Indian music genres with a modern blend of electronic music.
His career as a DJ began with viral reels on social media. Talking about his work, Sushil says, “I was fascinated with techno music, but it did not have a great fan base a couple of years ago. I decided to take original Bollywood tracks that people enjoyed singing along to, and mix them with New Age techno tracks.”

Over the years, he says, almost all the clubs he performed at have welcomed his edits and tracks. “A mashup of ‘Kaho na Kaho’ and ‘Black Dress’ brought me a lot of love and support,” he recalls.
In the past two months, Trapperx has performed in over seven countries and he says the response has been “highly enthusiastic”. The reception to Bollytech music has drastically changed in India with GenZ strongly connecting to it, he says, adding, “Listening to a fresh version of a classic from their childhood has led to older audiences enjoying my work as well. I believe, Bollytech is the next sound from India’s live music industry.”
At the moment, Sushil is working on an audio-visual IP project with a team of over 20 people from across the world in different fields. Probably the biggest IP project ever used by any DJ, Sushil says it is likely to release around November, and will be followed by a launch across India. “Bengaluru has been my biggest supporter; the energy here is amazing. The people love me and my music and it is one of the cities I love returning to.”
