Coronation Street fans were furious with Jodie Ramsey’s sickening actions this week with many saying the plot had gone ‘too far’, as others pointed out something didn’t make sense

Furious Coronation Street fans slammed the latest storyline with sinister Jodie Ramsey this week.
With Jodie targeting her sister Shona Platt, trying to steal her life, she took things “too far”. From pouring boiling water into the baby bath that was meant for little Harper, to set up Shona, to making Shona think she was hearing things, twisted Jodie has left fans disgusted.
With many fans threatening to switch off and saying the scenes this week were “too far”, other fans pointed out that there was a “mistake” in the writing. After all, Jodie has been here before in regards to trying to steal Shona’s life.
She tried to steal David, and even made it look like he tried to sleep with her. Jodie ended up being told to leave, and she was also exposed for attacking David’s sister Sarah Platt.
After some initial dram and the Platts wanting her away, Jodie managed to get the family back onside. It seemed she was retiring from the chaotic behaviour, and she and Shona could finally get on.
But in recent weeks Jodie has been up to no good again. So why is David so quick to believe Jodie over Shona, and not suspect that Jodie is not behind everything?
Fans have suggested it doesn’t make sense that after everything, no one has realised what is actually going on or that Jodie is meddling. Given what happened before, fans believe David or Shona would know that this has Jodie written all over it.
One fan posted: “Could Jodie be anymore obvious that she’s trying to steal Shona’s life?!” Another fan said: “How stupid is David? he has been through this before with her when she manoeuvred herself into his bed and I can’t believe he is not on to her again.”
Others were slamming the plot and Jodie’s actions, with her endangering baby Harper more than once, while also trying to make Shona think she is unwell. A fan said: “For me this is the worst storyline I’ve personally had to endure.
“I feel the trying to elude that Shona is becoming mentally unwell is disgusting. For someone who experienced postpartum psychosis after the birth of my daughter this just doesn’t sit right with me.
“Not that coronation street needs another issue based story line but actually removing Jody from the situation and playing it out that Shona did have PND would have been much better.” Another fan said: “Jodie is absolutely vile, I hope she is exposed and punished soon.”
A third fan said: “I wish they’d end the story with Jodie and Shona, it’s gone too far! Pouring boiling water into the baby bath.” A further post read: “Can’t believe there are Jodie defenders. How do you defend the bath water?”
