The next Sims 4 update is just around the corner, and it looks like it’ll be a game-changer for Sims’ autonomy. The official EA Laundry List for the next update lets us in on some of the changes being made this week, and its quality-of-life changes have certainly been a long time coming.
The Sims 4 update set to fix some major issues
The update is focused on both gameplay additions and bug fixes. For example, the Gallery has often failed to load search result over the past few months, but the patch will finally tackle this matter. The team has improved game stability by reviewing player crash reports and tracking down the errors causing the issues. Hopefully, these updates can prevent similar problems in the future.
The main focus of the update is Sims’ autonomy, as it aims to ensure that Sim behavior is as realistic as possible. The update will make it much more common for Sims to make eye contact during conversations. Instead of washing their hands in the kitchen sink after using the bathroom, Sims will finally use the sink closest to the toilet.
Speaking of going to the bathroom, Sims will walk faster when their Bladder Need is particularly low. As for those with a low Energy Need, they will actually sleep through the night rather than wake up to do random activities. Those may seem like small updates individually, but together they should give Sims much more realistic behaviors.
Additionally, relationships are getting major balance changes. Relationship satisfaction has been decaying at an alarming pace, causing couples to become unhappy much faster than intended. Now Sims with a bad relationship dynamic will do their best to avoid each other, meaning they will not autonomously socialize and will try their best to get the conversation over with.
Players can expect the next Sims 4 update to be available for download across all platforms on Sept. 22. It’ll drop around 1 p.m. ET, the usual release time for game patches.
