Veteran Tamil Actor Dismisses Death Rumours

Veteran Tamil actor Vadivukkarasi has put an end to false reports about her death that recently began circulating on social media.

The rumours, which also raised concerns about her health, left fans and members of the film industry worried. Vadivukkarasi has now personally clarified that she is doing well and that there is no cause for concern.

Speaking to Thanthi TV, the actor said she was in good health and had not faced any serious health issues. She also thanked those who contacted her to check on her well-being, while expressing surprise over the unnecessary panic caused by the false reports.

Vadivukkarasi is one of the most experienced actors in South Indian cinema, having worked extensively in Tamil films as well as Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada productions.

Over a career spanning nearly five decades, she has appeared in more than 350 films and over 40 television serials.

Before entering films, Vadivukkarasi worked as a teacher. She made her acting debut in the Kamal Haasan-starrer Sigappu Rojakkal and later appeared as a leading lady in Kanni Paruvathile.

She went on to deliver memorable performances in films including Muthal Mariyathai, Padikkadavan, Arunachalam, Padayappa, Sivaji and Jagame Thandhiram.

In the early 2000s, Vadivukkarasi successfully transitioned to television and became a familiar face in Tamil households through serials such as Alaigal, Vamsam, Kula Deivam and Karthigai Deepam.

She was most recently seen in the 2026 film Con City, alongside Arjun Das and Anna Ben.
