The remarkable run of Hanuman Ansh continues at the box office.
Made on a shoestring budget of just around Rs 2 crore and without any major stars, the devotional film has now emerged as one of the biggest surprise success stories in recent Indian cinema.
In its seventh weekend, Hanuman Ansh crossed the Rs 350 crore mark worldwide, an extraordinary achievement considering its modest scale and budget.
Interestingly, the film did not begin with a bang.
Hanuman Ansh opened with collections of just around Rs 10 lakh and managed only about Rs 1.50 crore during its first two weeks. At one stage, the film was almost written off.
But strong word of mouth completely changed its fortunes.
From the fourth week onwards, the film witnessed a massive surge in collections and reportedly started earning more than Rs 60 crore net in India every week.
On its 46th day, the film collected around Rs 4 crore net in India, taking its domestic total to approximately Rs 276 crore net and Rs 326 crore gross.
It has now emerged as one of the highest-grossing films in India this year.
The film also received a late overseas release after Hombale Films acquired its worldwide distribution rights earlier this month.
In around three weeks overseas, Hanuman Ansh has reportedly grossed about $2.8 million, taking its worldwide total to approximately Rs 352 crore after 46 days.
The film’s rise has been particularly stunning over the last few days.
From being outside the top 10, Hanuman Ansh has quickly climbed into the top three highest-grossing Indian films of 2026.
During the weekend, the small-budget devotional film reportedly surpassed the lifetime worldwide collections of several major pan-India releases, including Vijay’s Jana Nayagan, Yash’s Toxic and Ram Charan’s Peddi.
The film is now chasing even bigger targets, with Border 2 among the major box office benchmarks ahead.
Written and directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, Hanuman Ansh follows Lakshminarayan, a grieving young man who begins a spiritual journey after the death of his mother.
Travelling across North India in search of answers about life, death and human suffering, he eventually transforms into the revered spiritual figure Neem Karoli Baba.
The film stars Shobhinaw Satyaa in the lead role, along with Vihaan Shedge, Chandan K Anand, Purnima Tiwari, Anil Rastogi, Gulshan Pandey and Bhagvandas Patel.
With no big stars, no massive budget and hardly any initial hype, Hanuman Ansh has proved that strong word of mouth can still turn a small film into a nationwide box office phenomenon.
