The very best pubs in Coventry and Warwickshire have been revealed in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide 2027.
The guide celebrates the best pubs and beer across the UK and this year there’s seven new entries in Warwickshire and one in Coventry.
The list is independent and inclusion is free and dependent on merit, with all entries chosen and checked by the group’s own members. CAMRA’s vision is to have quality real ale and thriving pubs in every community.
This year, the Slaughterhouse Brewery Taproom is one of the less traditional venues among the new entries. Based in a former Victorian slaughterhouse, this Warwick taproom has plenty of atmosphere in what the guide describes as a ‘basic but welcoming’ space and also hosts special events such as vinyl weekends.
It serves beers such as Pacific Pale Ale Golden Bitter, Saddleback Best Bitter and Wild Boar, all from the Slaughterhouse brewery.
At the other end of the scale, the Royal Oak at Stockingford is also a new entry and is described as a ‘traditional’ pub with pool table and dart board. It also hosts regular events such as quiz nights and live entertainment.
One of its regular beers is Greene King’s Abbot Ale.
