A free one-day festival is coming to Coventry city centre this weekend – and it promises lots of fun for all the family.
Streets of Cov 2026 is a free day of outdoor performance, circus, interactive installations and creative activities. Organisers have also promised ‘a few surprises’.
We’ve taken a look at everything you need to know about the event and how to get involved.
What is Streets of Cov?
You might remember an event called Streets of Cov back in 2024 – it transformed the city for six weeks. This time round it’s a one day event. It’s organised by Imagineer, which is based in Daimler Powerhouse and creates outdoor arts productions.
When and where is it taking place?
Streets of Cov takes place this Saturday, September 26, from 11am to 5pm in Broadgate.
What can we expect?
There’s a timetable of activities published by the organisers which is as follows (there are also drop in activities taking place throughout the day):
11am: Ride
11.30am: High Flyers
12pm: Zig-Zag
12.30pm: Zig-Zag Play
1pm: Break
1.30pm: High Flyers
2pm: Ride
2.30pm: Break
3pm: Zig-Zag
3.30pm: Zig-Zag Play
4pm: High Flyers
4.30pm: Streets of Cov poetry performance
4.30pm: Ride
5pm: Event finish
‘Exciting event’
Johnny Autin, artistic director of Autin Dance Theatre, which is behind Zig Zag, said he is ‘thrilled’ to be taking part. Zig Zag is a non-verbal outdoor duet for all ages with two performers building a playful world from simple objects.
Mr Autin said: “We are thrilled to be bringing our spectacular performance Zig Zag! to Coventry in September as part of the Streets of Cov. We can’t wait for hundreds of residents to meet our cast! Thank you to Streets of Cov & Imagineer Productions for making this happen and supporting us to deliver what promises to be an exciting and engaging cultural event for all.”
