Inside Alison Hammond’s luxury home life with impressive weight loss and boyfriend

The Great British Bake Off host has shared glimpses into her life off screen

Alison Hammond is undoubtedly a woman in demand, thanks to her remarkable television portfolio. She presents on This Morning and co-hosts the successful Great British Bake Off, having shot to fame in the early 2000s.

The television personality was a contestant on the third series of the reality programme Big Brother, and her warm personality enabled her to forge a career in the entertainment industry. She has become a familiar face on television, particularly in recent years, and has also taken on presenting responsibilities for ITV’s For the Love of Dogs.

Alison, 51, has offered insights into her life beyond the cameras over the years, and it appears she has the perfect sanctuary to relax in between her demanding schedule.

Luxury home

As a proud Brummie, Alison made a significant move to London just two years ago, swapping her cherished Birmingham for the capital after finding a luxury property there.

Alison, who has a 21-year-old son named Aiden, has kept most of her new residence private but offered a glimpse of her beautiful garden. She posted a photograph of an expansive, landscaped, green garden, complete with a patio, to her Instagram followers.

The presenter said: “Feeling very emotional knowing that without all your support and love I wouldn’t be looking at this view. This is my new garden I would draw as a child but never dreamed it would be a reality. Thank you.”

She parted with her Solihull property in 2024, with a source from Smart Homes revealing to Mail Online at the time: “[The house] nearly sold three times but never completed because of vendors’ chains falling through. It has finally completed just shy of the new asking price of £700,000 and is now off the market. The celebrity owner is delighted.”

Impressive weight loss

Alison has been candid about her weight throughout the years, having reached 28 stone. She has since shed an astonishing 11 stone, with physical activity playing a crucial part.

The television personality wanted to transform her lifestyle for medical reasons and concentrates on consuming “everything in moderation”. Her mother, Maria, who suffered from type 2 diabetes, was worried about her well-being, particularly when Alison discovered she was pre-diabetic.

She now begins her morning with a ginger shot before enjoying sausages, eggs and bacon with her son Aiden. Alison also recruited personal trainer Ellis Gatfield five years ago, who assisted in developing a fitness programme.

Together, they focused on resistance training rather than lengthy cardio sessions and ensured that Alison participated in workouts she enjoyed. Ellis told Women’s Health that Alison typically completes a 30-minute resistance circuit session on Mondays, followed by a 30-minute boxing session on Tuesdays.

Wednesday serves as a rest day or features a gentle walk, while Thursday includes a 30-minute kettlebell circuit followed by a 30-minute boxing session on Fridays. Saturdays and Sundays are designated rest days, though she might undertake a gentle walk.

Alison has previously spoken candidly about her decision not to use weight-loss injections. She told Good Housekeeping UK: “I think that, for people who need to use them, they’re a good thing – but for me, as soon as I hear any scare story, I get frightened. So I haven’t wanted to use them, but that’s not to say I wouldn’t in the future, and I certainly wouldn’t look down on anyone who did.”

Younger boyfriend

Alison typically keeps her romantic life away from public scrutiny, yet has occasionally offered rare glimpses into her relationship. She has been in a relationship with model and massage therapist David Putman, 29, since 2023.

Alison has largely remained tight-lipped about her partnership with David, who stands at 6ft 10, though she has revealed that things are going “really, really, well”. Speaking to the Daily Mail, Alison said: “I’ve always had issues with my boyfriends, this one I don’t. We get on really well. We love each other. I never have to worry and second guess how he feels about me. He’s wonderful.”

She further revealed that they enjoy “lovely holidays” where they are “kissing a lot” and that she receives “a lot of massages” courtesy of David’s “healing hands”.

The pair first crossed paths when Alison booked David for a massage, with an instant connection sparking between them. Once their romance became public knowledge, Alison found herself under scrutiny regarding their age difference.

Speaking to Good Housekeeping, she responded: “I can see how on paper you’d notice the age difference. Yes, I am 22 years older than he is. But if you saw us together, you’d understand. People have said to me, ‘We get it now.'”

Prior to her current relationship, Alison was romantically involved with Noureddine Boufaied, with whom she shares her son. However, their engagement came to an end in 2014.
