Last night, Sept. 27, Amelia Dimoldenberg hosted SNL UK and Rachel Chinouriri was the musical guest. Dimoldenberg, who recently announced that she was ending her show Chicken Shop Date, had some good laughs during her opening monologue, especially a dig at Ed Sheeran who she called “the world famous red-headed puppet with a hand up his ass telling him what to say.”
Chinouriri performed “One Song Away From Crying,” off her forthcoming sophomore album I Think I Spoke Too Soon, and then “Never Need Me,” from her 2024 debut album What A Devastating Turn Of Events.
In other music related news, the cold open was a sketch about new prime minister Andy Burnham meeting Liam and Noel Gallagher of Oasis. They ask Burnham to join the band, which then turns out to be a Russian internet phishing scam. “Oasis is, and has always been, Russia psyop,” Noel, I mean, Nolakov Galagski reveals. “All our songs made in lab by Kremlin scientist,” Liam, or rather Liamovich Galagov, adds.
