Claudia Winkleman is swapping the Celebrity Traitors castle for a very different BBC show airing in a matter of days.
The beloved presenter will be back on our screens on Thursday night (October 1) as a fresh batch of celebrities take on the famous Traitors spin-off show. But she will also be featured in another family-friendly show airing that same day.
Claudia will appear in the upcoming episode of CBeebies Bedtime Story, reading Huw Aaron’s book Monkeypig. The mischievous story follows Molly, who lives happily among the monkeys in the jungle even though she is secretly a pig.
When head monkey Norman suspects that an impostor has infiltrated the group, he puts everyone through a series of monkey tests. This leaves Molly at risk of being exposed, unless she can somehow complete the trials.
Claudia will read Monkeypig on CBeebies at 6.50pm on Thursday (October 1), and the story will also be available on iPlayer.
The BBC host joins an impressive roster of celebrities who have appeared on Bedtime Stories, including Celebrity Traitors stars Joe Marler and Paloma Faith.
Speaking about watching her own children grow up, Claudia said: “When it comes to my kids, I’ve loved all the chapters. I love them when they are little, I love them when they are squishy, I love them when they are toddlers, I also love them when they are 23, like my eldest.
“Every little bit is a gift and I am so happy to have them. I’m looking forward to all of it. I’m really really looking forward to being a grandma. No pressure guys.”
She went on to add: “I am a deep embarrassment to my children because I’m too orange, my lipstick is too white and I wear too much black, so they find me excruciating and that’s just how it should be…I embarrass them but that’s our job. So if you find your parents embarrassing that’s good, it means they’re smashing it.”
Celebrity Traitors will also air this coming Thursday on BBC One at 8pm. As always, Claudia will pick her Faithfuls and Traitors shortly after the cast check into the castle.
After choosing her groups, the game will officially get underway as the contestants try to weed out and eliminate the Traitors. The series will air two nights a week on Thursday and Friday evenings at 8pm.
