Calling all “100 Day Dream Home” fans! The hit HGTV show may be coming back for a brand new season after Season 7 officially wrapped in March — at least, if Brian and Mika Kleinschmidt’s latest Instagram post is any indication. The beloved couple has finally given viewers an update on what’s next for their show, hinting that they’re gearing up to film a possible eighth season via a cryptic post they shared on September 27. Alongside a snapshot of the couple sitting on a dock with a rainbow and the sky as their backdrop, Brian wrote, “‘If you want the rainbow… you gotta put up with the rain,'” quoting the late country music superstar, Dolly Parton. He then teased, “One week away from filming our ‘next rainbow.’ #HGTV, #StayTuned, and #BackAtIt.”
Although there’s been no official word from HGTV as of this writing, longtime fans quickly flocked to the comments to share their excitement. “Yep! We need rain again!!!!” one such user enthused. Another simply gushed, “I can’t wait,” while a third added, “I’ve watched all episodes twice!!!! I need new episodes.” “100 Day Dream Home” premiered on HGTV in 2020. It follows Brian and Mika as they help build their clients’ dream homes from start to finish, with one major twist: They only have three months and 10 days to get the job done.
The show quickly became popular among HGTV viewers and is now arguably one of the network’s flagship series, among fan favorites like “Property Brothers” and “Home Town.” As Mika shared in an interview with our sister site, The List, “We’re starting from a blank canvas, so it is different than renovating and that’s kind of what sets our show apart from the others on HGTV.” Clearly, fans can’t get enough of them.
Brian and Mika show no signs of slowing down
Brian and Mika Kleinschmidt started out as gym owners before getting into real estate and eventually finding success in reality television. “When we sold our first gym, we started flipping houses together and then we started doing new construction from the ground up builds and we were doing it very fast,” Brian recalled in a 2025 appearance on “The Deals & Aloha Podcast.” They were subsequently approached by a TV producer who thought it would make a good concept for a home renovation show. Initially, it was called “90 Day Dream Home.”
But then, “’90 Day Fiance’ caught wind of our show and they said, ‘You guys can’t have 90 day in the title ‘cuz we have 90 days,'” Mika recounted. “So, then they said, ‘Well, 100 days.'” Ultimately, “It worked out for us [because] we got 10 more days!” Even though it’s a massive undertaking, the HGTV stars prefer to start with a clean slate rather than redesigning old homes, because it gives them the freedom to be more creative and flexible. As Brian pointed out to Realtor, in 2021, “A lot of these renovated homes are hundreds of years old, [and usually] they have a ton of problems.”
He continued, “So we like starting from scratch with everything brand-new, and giving the customer exactly what they want.” The couple is extremely grateful for their success and the support they’ve received from their audience since “100 Day Dream Home” debuted. “We’re glad that it’s resonating with the viewers,” Brian noted in a previous chat with TV Insider. “Our fans have been so loyal to us from the beginning. They’re the reason why we have the show and still have the show, and we thank them every chance we get.”
