Offering a third glimpse into her long-anticipated sophomore record, Rachel Chinouriri has shared her latest single, ‘Broken Chair’.
Written in Los Angeles, the track situates its listener in the throes of a night out, taking a moment of introspection and turning it into something deeply revelatory. Playful, emotional and catchy, ‘Broken Chair’ is an all-too-relatable offering from the London-born artist, who fine-tunes her take on indie-pop while unpacking the trials of her mid-twenties.
Speaking on her latest release, the artist takes a moment to reflect on the track’s songwriting, a process she shared with fellow musician Lucy Dacus:
“I started having these realisations about drinking and partying and all these things and she almost reassured me that I am more than enough just being who I am and what I want to be.”
Fresh off the back of a string of headline shows across New York, Los Angeles and Paris, alongside an appearance at Olivia Rodrigo’s history-making Daisy Chain Fields Festival, it’s been a whirlwind summer for Rachel Chinouriri. Amid the build-up to her new record ‘I think I spoke to soon’, Chinouriri gears up towards supporting Gracie Abrams on her North American tour.
