Donald Trump is ‘drunk uncle’ with ‘keys to the nukes,’ Pete Davidson says

Pete Davidson is not mincing his words when it comes to the current administration.

While speaking to Variety about his upcoming movie How to Rob a Bank, the Saturday Night Live alum, 32, shared his honest feelings about Donald Trump.

“Nothing that guy says is surprising anymore,” Davidson said about the president. “It’s sad that it’s to the point where it’s so ridiculous that you’re like, ‘Yeah, whatever.’”

The comedian added to the publication: “He’s the drunk uncle, but he has the keys to the nukes. That’s the problem. If he didn’t have those keys, you’d be like, ‘Oh, that’s just the silly drunk uncle. He’s old.’”

Trump has publicly said that he’s never touched alcohol because of his brother, who was an alcoholic and died aged 43.

Davidson, whose father was a firefighter who died in the line of duty on 9/11, made those comments as Trump faced questioning following a 9/11 anniversary event earlier this month. The commander-in-chief claimed that he was lifted up by firefighters near Ground Zero moments after the attacks.

However, records of the day have proven he was at Trump Tower that day, miles away from the damage. Responders who were at the scene said that they never saw him there.

Davidson seemed unsurprised when Variety asked his response to Trump’s repeated false claims.

“That’s unfortunate that he said that, though, because that’s definitely not what happened,” he said.

Trump has lashed out at “fake news” outlets for questioning his account. He wrote in a Truth Social post earlier this month: “The Failing New York Magazine wrote a story that I wasn’t down at the World Trade Center after the Tragedy of September 11th, because nobody saw me there.

“Well, I don’t think I would be the first thing on anyone’s mind but, I was there, obviously not on the same day as the collapse, but shortly thereafter, with a large group of Construction Workers,” he clarified.

He continued: “I discussed it today during my Remarks on the Ellipse, in Washington, D.C., for Tunnel to Towers. Everything I said was exactly accurate and, to prove the point, I am attaching clips of me there with numerous of my people, including my then Head of Security, Matthew Calamari, who has confirmed that very sad trip to Lower Manhattan, many times, to many different Journalists, but it’s a story that just won’t die.”

“The Fake News doesn’t want to listen, even when they know their story is false. That’s why their approval ratings are at an All Time LOW, but mine are VERY HIGH!” Trump said.

Davidson’s forthcoming comedy heist film, How to Rob a Bank, is set to be released in theaters November 13.
