Jennifer Lopez has been making headlines for a few different reasons over the last week.
One was when she when she opened up about being emotional now that her children have left for collage and she’s an empty nester. She’s was also seen getting frustrated with photographers in Paris, and drew some criticism from fans over her recent outfit choice and shoe selection.
On Sept. 26, the star shared a video on her JLO Beauty’s Instagram discussing how she feels now that Emme and Max are away at school.
“I was just about to start my skincare routine, and I was thinking about routines because I’m sure a lot of people are going through this out there,” she began. “My kids are going away to college. But those routines really keep you going.
“And I think when they go away, and I’m sitting here being an empty nester, and crying and thinking about them and looking at baby pictures of them and all of that stuff. These routines are the things that are going to keep me sane. Working out, doing my skincare routine, caring for myself, with the newfound kind of space that’s in your life.”
She then added, “You know, you’re so excited for them to step into this new era of their life, but it’s also, we have to remember, it’s a new era of our lives too. And maybe it’s time to revive some old dreams that you had. Something you put aside during the time that you were raising your kids, or things you didn’t have time for.
“It’s a scary time. It’s a transitional time. It’s a new beginning, in a lot of ways, for them, certainly, but also for you. So don’t forget that. Keep your routines going. Stay hydrated. Stay happy, stay joyful, stay productive.”
Days later, JLo headed to Paris and made headlines when she was seen on camera losing her patience with the paparazzi. In rare moment for the singer, she became a little rattled with the paps and stopped to tell them to “stop acting crazy” and “relax” before saying, “Nobody is running anywhere. We’re not doing anything.”
After she addressed the photogs, another thing that got people’s attention was her outfit.
She wore a long white dress with thin spaghetti straps that had a satin panel across the bust and intricate lace detail throughout. It featured a low back, and she carried a black Lady Dior bag with it.
Her hair was swept back and she sported large avaitor shades. But what surprised many is that Lopez paired her outfit with black leather loafers and white crew socks.
Fans were quick to comment on the emsemble writing, “Don’t like the socks and shoes with a lace dress,” and “Not looking her best!” and “What is she wearing?”
Another posted, “Wtf is on her feet? Yuck,” while a fifth chimed in with “Looks like she just got out of bed,or she’s going to walmart.”
