Troye Sivan is looking back at his viral bathroom photo from the 2021 Met Gala.
The 31-year-old “Party” singer has attended the fashion night several times over the years, but 2021 holds a pretty memorable moment for the entertainer.
While appearing on the latest episode of the Therapuss podcast with Jake Shane, the host asked Troye what his most starstruck moment was and the first thing that came to mind was that bathroom moment, which involved Rihanna!
“I think, the immediate one that comes to mind is Rihanna,” Troye shared. “That I feel like is just one that I’ll never get over. I don’t know, I don’t think I, I’ve only ever seen her… I think I’ve seen her maybe twice in real life at things from afar.”
“And then one time at The Met we quickly spoke because she, when I was wearing my dress to The Met — and then I went to the bathroom and I was peeing at the urinal and I hiked up the dress to pee. And then I’m peeing and I hear the door slams open and a bunch of people come in or whatever,” he continued. “And I hear a woman’s voice and she’s like, ‘Someone’s got to take a picture of that.’”
“And I turned around and it was Rihanna. And I was like, ‘Oh my God, f***. Cool,’” Troye added. “Obviously — put everything away and then I ask someone to take a picture and then I post it on my Instagram and I’m like, ‘Okay, that’s sick to me that Rihanna told me to take that pic.’”
You can see the photo above, which Troye shared the morning after on September 15, 2011, with the caption, “@badgalriri told @tomdaley to take this pic of me weeing.”
If you didn’t know, Troye is gearing up to release his new album, She’s the Best, NEXT Friday (October 9), featuring previously released singles, “Party” and “She’s the Best.”
