*WARNING: CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR THE STRICTLY COME DANCING WEEK 2 RESULTS SHOW*
Strictly Come Dancing returned in star-studded fashion last night (3 October) as the 15 celebrities and their partners headed out onto the dance floor for movie week.
For the first time in Strictly history, this weekend marked the first time all celebrities get to take part in a themed week before the eliminations began.
Delta Goodrem found herself at the top of the leaderboard after her scores from week 1 and week 2 were combined, with a spectacular 59 points. She was followed closely behind by Graeme Hall and Lacey Turner with 55.
While Will Best, Chris Appleton and Melanie Walters were at the latter end with 37, 33 and 30 thanks to the combined scores.
But it wasn’t the judges who’d get to make the call, with the vote finally opened to the public, allowing their opinions on the pairs to be heard.
Unfortunately for Chris Appleton and Amy Dowden and Jaime Winstone and Carlos Gu, they faced the dreaded dance-off in which they both had to perform their routines again – a Cha Cha to I’ll Be Ready from Baywatch and a Cha Cha to Oh, Pretty Woman from Pretty Woman.
After both couples had dances, the judges delivered their verdicts and all chose to save Jaime and Carlos, meaning Chris Appleton was eliminated.
Craig Revel Horwood had the head judge casting vote this week said he would have also saved Jaime and Carlos, should he have been required to vote.
Sunday nights’ results show also featured a The Devil Wears Prada routine from the Strictly professionals – featuring Motsi Mabuse and Craig Revel Horwood – along with a special performance from Matilda the Musical.
The remaining 14 couples will take to the dance floor next week when Strictly Come Dancing returns at 6:15pm on Saturday 10 October.
Fans will get to hear more from Chris and Amy when they join Ellie Taylor on Strictly: It takes Two on Monday 5 October at 6:30pm on BBC Two and iPlayer.
Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday 10 October at 6:15pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
